Pat Donohue
Grammy winning finger picking guitarist Pat Donohue’s devotion to acoustic guitar has made him an American standard as he echoes the tones of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Charlie Parker, or Merle Travis. For almost 20 years he was the guitarist and songwriter for the popular radio show, A Prairie Home Companion, leaving recently to return to the life of a touring musician and guitar teacher. He has captivated audiences with his unique original compositions, dazzling instrumentals, and humorous song parodies. Pat won a Grammy in 2005 for his participation on Pink Guitar, a compilation of Henry Mancini tunes on acoustic guitar, several Minnesota Music Awards, and the title National Finger Picking Guitar Champion. His original tunes have been recorded by Chet Atkins, Suzy Bogguss, and Kenny Rogers. Another “don’t miss” show!
