Our debut CD “Out of the Wood” has just been released!

We are Ann Borden on Celtic harp, Nora Garver on fiddle, and Tracey Maxwell on cello. We’re based in the NC Piedmont (Greensboro, Asheville & Winston-Salem respectively), smack dab in the path of The Great Philadelphia Wagon Road that brought many thousands of Scots-Irish settlers here from the 1700’s onward. We perform contemporary and traditional Scottish music, as well as our own compositions, which draw on Celtic and American roots and reflect our classical backgrounds. You might hear jazz-like chords, Appalachian motifs, traditional Scottish “snaps” and classical arpeggios all in one performance.

From lovely airs and laments to toe-tapping jigs, reels and strathspeys, we strive to make your heart sing and your kilt swing. Join us on a Celtic musical journey begun hundreds of years ago and still evolving. Let the mist of the moors enfold you…then settle by the crackling fire as the barman refills your glass. We 3 belles and our 44 strings will do the rest.
